The National Association of Gambia Nurses and Midwives (NAGaNM) is proud to be an independent, non-partisan, and non-governmental association representing nurses and midwives in The Gambia. Established in 2004 through the unification of various nursing and midwifery organizations, NAGaNM has been dedicated to fostering collaboration, professional excellence, and advocating for the rights and welfare of its members. As a proud member of the International Council of Nurses (ICN), we continue to champion the vital role of nurses and midwives in healthcare.

On 22 December 2024, NAGaNM hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Award Ceremony. The event, moderated by our esteemed Secretary General was yet another resounding success. Alhamdulilah!

A Day of Celebration and Appreciation
The event was graced by the presence of our valued members and distinguished invited guests, who took time out of their busy schedules to celebrate the achievements of nurses and midwives across the country. To all the awardees, congratulations on your hard work, dedication, and invaluable services.

As highlighted during the ceremony, recognizing and celebrating our nurses and midwives not only fosters national appreciation for their tireless work but also reinforces the call for improved working conditions and professional recognition. Together, we aim to ensure they receive the respect and support they truly deserve.

A special thanks to our guest speaker, Dr. Haddy Tunkara Bah, for her inspiring address, and to all who contributed to making the event a memorable one.

Award Highlights

The NAGaNM executive team also extends its gratitude to everyone who made this event a success. Let’s continue to work together in advancing the nursing and midwifery professions in The Gambia.
